With a national reputation as the biggest
party school, we knew this is where the message must be taken. Our
team prepared for the warfare at Chico State and were not surprised
by the reaction.
|
Thousands of students passed by our
display and many engaged our team with great questions.
The display was powerful and we watched as our presence was
changing minds and hearts. We handed out thousands of
Gospel tracts and materials to interested students. There was a
bigger positive response than we thought there would be on
this unholy ground .
|
The angry
proabortion students did not like to see how many students were
listening to us.
So a
coalition of homosexual students began to stir up other students
and the counter demonstration began.
|
This photo speaks volumes. Many students
found it interesting that the rhetoric the "prochoice" students
were proposing was so clearly defined on our display. How does one
reconcile the two messages in this photo.
We were exposing the fallacy of the
notion that killing a baby is her "choice." It was great that this
student stood there because it made our message more
clear.
They gather together against the life
of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood. Psalm 94:21
|
"They served
their idols, which became a snare to them...they even sacrificed
their sons and daughters to demons, and shed innocent blood...and
the land was polluted with blood. Thus they were
defiled by their own works." Psalm 106:36-39
|
Many of the protesters listened in on our
conversations and got what we call the "ricochet" witnessing
technique.
|
"For the mouth of the wicked and the
mouth of the deceitful have opened against me; They have spoken
against me with a lying tongue. They have also surrounded me with
words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause. In return
for my love they are my accusers, but I give myself to prayer.
Thus they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my
love."
Psalm
109:1-5

The proabort students were taken back by
our willingness to dialogue with them. John is walking through the
reasoned arguments in our material with these two lost souls and
the one on the left claimed to be a "Christian." She stayed
protesting us for the entire two days.
|
Students still came up to us throughout the
protest and some were so broken by our message that we had many
opportunities to pray with them and proclaim the freedom that can
only be found in Jesus Christ. Several Christian students thanked
us for being on their campus and told us we were brave for being
there. We encouraged them to be bold and be witnesses to their
friends.
|
Frank and Diana were
confronted by this Christian student, angry that we were making
students mad at Christians. After she listened to our reasons for
being so bold, this student had a change of heart and our team
prayed that her walk with the Lord would be stronger on the
campus. Frank said it was the highlight of his
day.
|
We had two great
days on the Chico State campus and want you to pray for the
Christian students who are trying to impact that campus. We were
encouraged by their desire to change the hearts of the ungodly
people all around them each day.
